Owen-2 years

We have a big two year old on our hands now! We wanted to get a picture with his bear and elephant like we did each of the first 12 months of his life... turns out it's even harder to get a good one with a two year old than a baby!

Stats:
Height: 35"-75th percentile
Weight: 27lbs 1 oz-38th percentile
Head Circumference: 50.5cm-90th Percentile
Diaper size-5
Clothing- 2T

Owen has grown up so much! He is developing more and more of a personality. He is very shy and takes a while to warm up to people. He is uncomfortable in big crowds. But, he is also the sweetest little guy.  While, definitely starting to act more "2", he has a big heart and loves to help out. He melts my heart when we're just walking along and he will wordlessly reach up and take my hand.

I walked in and Owen was sitting on our bed wearing my nursing pillow! Trying to be like mommy.

And wearing daddy's shoes

He loves cars. Given the choice of what we are going to play, he will choose "play cars?" every time. Cars, trucks, planes, trains, diggers... Basically things that go! He also loves his sandbox and playing in the backyard.

Checking out the fire trucks at the fire station open house!

Playing at the park

Owen's vocabulary is rapidly growing. He is constantly repeating things that he has heard, sometimes even days later. He can count to 10 and sing the ABC's. He knows all of his colors and some of the shapes. He just learned the letter 'O' and is constantly pointing out Os everywhere we go--on signs, in books we read, etc.

One of my favorite things Owen does is sing songs. In a former life I woke up to the blaring of an alarm clock. Now it's Wheels on the Bus or Twinkle Twinkle coming through the monitor most mornings. We often will turn on Pandora toddler station and have dance parties.  Here's a video I took a few months ago of Owen singing in the back of the car on the way home one day.

We had a little birthday party on our trip, but we had a few presents for him to open when we got home.

It's a bit bittersweet to see how much my baby is growing up, but I can't wait to see what this next year brings!
