Nursery Reveal

Well now that we've finally finished our last few projects in Lydia's nursery, here it is!

The room is irregularly shaped, so it's hard to get a good picture of it.  This room was our office, and a poorly-painted beige from the previous owners. My handy man installed the chair rail and then we painted.

Matt also built the bed frame from plans we found online.

Before paint

Animal prints we found online

We found the "love" sign at ikea--almost too perfect. Matched the purple and gold and has roses for our little Lydia Rose.

The rose fabric was another ikea find, and I made it into a quick valance.

This quilt was made by Matt's talented sister, Amy. She even hand-embroidered Lydia's name on it!

The gold butterflies are wall decals

These were decorations re-purposed from my baby shower.

You are my Sunshine

Loved this mirror from Hobby Lobby

I think my favorite thing in the room is our latest project, this mobile.

Inspired by a pinterest find, Matt and I spent about a week of evenings tying 200 crystals at various lengths to a wire wreath frame. I considered gluing silk flowers to the outside, but when I found these gold butterflies in the floral supplies, I thought they'd be perfect.

And that's it. Ta-da!

Announcement

Just wanted to share Lydia's birth announcement along with her other newborn pictures. She's already gotten so much bigger!

Lydia-2 months

Can you spy my little helper?

Stats:
Height: 22.25in- 39th%
Weight: 11lbs, 8oz- 55th%
Head: 15.75in 93rd%

Our little girl is becoming more and more alert. She is becoming more social and loves to delight us with her smiles.  I love her goofy tongue sticking out-she does it all the time! She is also starting to make cute happy little baby coos. She is starting to sleep longer stretches at night--she'll go about 6 1/2 hours.

Hair perpetually sticking up, no matter what we do

 Sweet big blue eyes

She is the best little snuggler

Grocery shopping has gotten a bit more complicated. Where do I put everything?

Taking up the whole sidewalk now on our morning walks.

Owen has taken such a sweet interest in his sister.  He wanted to hold her hand in the car.

Owen is more interested in her toys than she is.

She's not the biggest fan of tummy time, but Owen loves to "help" her.
