Happy Thanksgiving!

This year for Thanksgiving we went down to Round Rock. The Sheens were great hosts.

It was delicious! Thankful that Owen loves the car, he was a champ the whole way there.

Melissa and her kids were also able to make it.  All three of these guys celebrated their first Thanksgiving this year.
Will, Rachel, and Owen

Now isn't this what Thanksgiving is all about:

I am feeling very thankful this year.  I have been blessed more than I ever thought I would be. I have such great family and friends and friends in my life.

Especially grateful for this little guy. It's only been a few months, but I can't imagine life without him.

Owen-2 months

Owen is two months old today!  Time sure has been flying by.

Stats:
Our little chart topper is in the 99th percentile for height-25.5in. He's grown 4 inches since birth.  No wonder he eats so much! His head circumference is 16 in, 92nd percentile.  He weighs 13lbs 12oz and is in the 84th percentile for weight.

We've had a lot of fun this month. I just keep falling more and more in love with this little man. I've enjoyed him becoming a little bit more alert and interactive. He has been starting to talk and coo like crazy, which we love.  He's starting to smile, but it's still pretty elusive and hard to catch on camera.

He's getting better at sleeping, he's now doing about 6 hours or so straight every night. (yay!)

He loves lights. He just stares and stares. We just put our Christmas tree up and he can't get enough of it.  Sometimes when he's fussy I'll turn it on and he'll just completely forget that he was crying. It's like magic.

Owen has had a busy month and now met all 13 of his cousins. He had his first flight to California and did a great job!  He pretty much slept the entire flight.

Grandpa and Grandma with cousin Rachel-Can you believe Owen is almost 3 weeks younger?

He still loves his daddy.  They hang out every day when Matt gets home from work.
His neck is getting so strong!

Owen-1 month

Little Owen just turned one month old!  I can't believe it, it has gone by so fast in one sleep-deprived blur.  The first couple weeks were just survival mode.  The question I've been asked the most is what is it like to be a mom. To be honest, it has been harder than I thought it would be, but also so much better. I love him so much, I can't believe it.  Our days have been sleeping, snuggling, crying, lots of diaper  and wardrobe changes, and eating all. the. time.  All that eating must be doing something--he is in size 1 diapers and some of his 0-3m clothes are getting too small!
Look how big he is!
Lately he has been becoming more and more alert.  He's got big, blue, intelligent eyes and loves to look around at everything.  He is starting to make eye contact.  He loves going for walks and looking at the trees and getting fresh air. He still hates baths, but loves car rides, they calm him down every time.

Owen has gotten to spend lots of time with both grandmas and we are really grateful for all their help.

He's also starting to practice his smiles, and although they're not intentional yet, they are my favorite.
He also loves his daddy.  They spend a lot of time snuggling and rocking.

Matt is already a great dad.  He's a champion diaper changer and a huge help.

Owen's first costume-- He dressed up like a little minion for the ward Halloween party

He didn't like it much

It's a little bit bitter sweet watching Owen change so much already, but we're so excited to watch him continue to grow and see what the future has in store for him.
